The development of treatments to combat cancer have progressed over the years. Throughout history there has been a remarkable number of ingenious attempts to cure the disease. This presentation begins with early cancer treatments and then moves forward along the historical timeline illustrating medical breakthroughs up to the present day. The audience is shown how the novelties of therapy design are a direct reflection of our understanding how cancer cells operate. This presentation discusses a range of topics including the surgical removal of the tumor, conventional chemotherapies, and present-day therapies. Later in the presentation, the audience is introduced to medicine of the future and how these treatments will be used to fight the good fight against cancer.
