The late 1940s/early ‘50s were revolutionary for a number of reasons, but the greatest impact on pop culture came with televisions entering American homes for the first time. Now people were able to stay home and be entertained by the likes of Lucille Ball and didn’t need to go out and spend money on entertainment. This lecture examines the changes the film industry made to stay relevant during this time, and how it has continued to stay one step ahead of television ever since.
