This talk will explore the development of illuminated manuscripts of Books of Hours in the late Gothic period (14th-15th centuries) in Northern Europe. Focusing on personal prayer books, we will examine such masterpieces of Gothic manuscript illumination as the famous Tres Riches Heures du Jean Duc de Berry and others.
