World War II began with the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and the war ended on August 14, 1945, when Japan issued its unconditional surrender. More than 16 million men and women served, including seven men who would go on to the presidency: Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush. This multimedia presentation examines the war experiences of these seven presidents as well as their accomplishments as president.
