I just wanted to tell you “Thank you” for the amazing presentation today. You successfully wove together a good immigration story with a “how I did it” on A.I. Truly a job well done.

Just so you know, there were 49 people who attended in person, and about 67 on Zoom. Our best attended session post COVID. And we had several people join as new members, including a couple who happened to be in the library and stopped in to see what was going on!

And, please check out the JGSPBC Facebook page. Marjorie Feldman posted a very nice comment about your presentation.

In short — a five star presentation. Thank you!!

Mark was terrific! He clearly has a passion for advertising! The Superbowl Ad presentation took everyone (veterans and staff) on a fun trip down memory lane. It seemed to pique a bit of curiosity about what this year held, as well. Mark said he has a presentation about Minnesota advertising and it is one we will consider booking in the future!

I loved the program. It is true he spent a lot of time on autonomous cars, but I found that topic even more interesting than the topic as advertised.

Minnesota Caves: History Lore

Minnesota has many caves, some known nationally. Carver’s was the earliest cave in what is now the US to be described in published literature after Jonathan Carver’s visit ten years before the Revolution. Fountain Cave was the birthplace of the capital city, St. Paul. Specialized uses included for beer, cheese, mushrooms, and as nightclubs. Mystery and Niagara are the state’s best known show caves. Far north, the violent waves of Lake Superior hammered out caves accessible only by kayak. Other caves were purely mythical. Learn about all of them from the geologist who wrote the book on the subject.

Subterranean Twin Cities

In Subterranean Twin Cities, geologist Greg Brick takes us on an adventurous educational tour into the caves and tunnels that make up the Twin Cities’ fascinating underground landscape. Brick shines a headlamp into the labyrinths beneath the streets and reminds us that what we see aboveground is only half the story. Novel geological and historical insights from each chapter of the book will be highlighted.

Geological Wonders Of Florida

Take a tour of Florida’s surprisingly diverse geology and learn new things about some very old places. Based on the presenter’s caving, SCUBA, and rockhounding experience in the state, places such as the Devil’s Den, Devil’s Millhopper, Florida Caverns, hot and cold springs, sinkholes, and strange beaches, will be featured. Rather than focusing on the usual tourist traps, the educational value of these various locations will be emphasized.
