Wendy Adler, ARTiculating Talks & Tours, can answer those queries and help you engage with art in a focused way. For the last 10 years, Wendy Adler has been presenting monthly art conversations and guided art tours for private groups and numerous communities in the Houston, TX and Denver, CO areas. Wendy truly enjoys introducing ways to engage with art for anyone with an interest, regardless of their previous art knowledge. Wendy has been a Docent at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; Houston Contemporary Craft Center; Educationalist with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston’s Guild Speakers Bureau; Docent for the Post Oak Hotel and La Colombe d’Or art collections; and is currently a Docent at the Clyfford Still Museum.

By the end of the sessions, participants will have an understanding of how American art has developed and the impacts it has made on the global art world.

Just as the United States developed from European influences, American art was seeded through European influence. Learn what shaped American art’s beginnings from the 18th-century through the Hudson River School and Luminism movements.
Showing Our Pride: Introducing America’s Uniqueness Through Art
Patriotism in our young country becomes very important in the 19th century, and American art reflects this. We will discuss Native American portrayals, the effect of the Civil War, and the groundswell of societal issues that impact American art and artists.
The Changing Times: How The State Of The World Is Expressed In Art
