We will be covering the history of American art, beginning in the early 1700’s through current-day. Focus will be primarily on painters and painting styles. By the end of the sessions, participants will have an understanding of how American art has developed and the impacts it has made on the global art world.
Part 4: Doing It Our Way: American Art Becomes Its Own Force
Abstract Expressionism becomes the first American-born art movement and leads the art world into Modern Art as we know it today. We will discuss artists and the impact of their art from the last half of the 20th century and the early 21st century.
